The February 6, 2008 meeting was called to order 7:00p.m. Thirty Six members were in attendance and four guests (Bob Welch, John Rossi, Larry Willette and Ralph Phillips). Mike Riley delivered the invocation.
KID SAFE: Jerry Bundy spoke again about the financial difficulties Kid Safe is having and the emergency board of directors meeting that was held. Jerry informed us that after doing a revised budget, Kidsafe doors will be able to remain open for at least another 5 months. They are currently working with only a staff of 9 and are in desperate need of unrestricted funds to continue to keep the doors open. In efforts to help assist with the financial problem, the club will be selling $100.00 50/50 tickets at the next meeting, please be generous and purchase a ticket. The drawing will be held on March 19, 2008.
KID SAFE WISH LIST: Entertainment Center, Couch, Curtains, Bed for Adult, Twin Size Bed, Basketballs, Pool Sticks, Pool Balls, Washer, Dryer, Baby Gates, Booster Seat and Umbrella Stroller.
KID SAFE: Kidsafe will be holding their annual Bowl-A-Thon for Child Abuse Prevention on April 12, 2008 from 4:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m., please contact either Robin or Jerry Bundy to get more information.
Wine Tasting: Mort is still looking for some-one to offer to be a chairperson for the Table Sponsors for the wine auction, they will work directly with Mort about getting Table Sponsors.
New Officer: Charlie Sandberg has offered to fill the 2nd Vice President position and will be inducted in the spring.
Senior Picnic: Charlie Sandberg informed us that the date of the senior picnic will be changed this year due to the park not being available for Father’s Day Weekend. The new date will be Saturday, June 21, 2008.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS : On November 1, 2007 and January 30, 2008, meetings were held by the board, attached is the minutes from the meetings.
FUND RAISER: We have finally come up with a new fund raiser idea. On April 18, 2009, we will be having a Dinner & Comedy Show, we anticipate that this event will be a great time and are very excited about this. We have already reserved Georgina’s Banquet Facility in Bolton, CT and have hired a comedian.
